Safe Checks You Can Try

1. Put the Echo Dot (5th Gen) in Pairing Mode

Say “Alexa, pair Bluetooth”. On your phone, go to Bluetooth settings and look for Echo Dot (5th Gen) in the list of available devices.

2. Clear Paired Devices and Reconnect

In the Alexa app go to Devices → Echo Dot (5th Gen) → Bluetooth Devices and remove all paired devices. Forget the Echo Dot (5th Gen) on your phone and pair again.

3. Check Distance and Interference

Keep your phone within 10 metres of the Echo Dot (5th Gen) and reduce other active Bluetooth devices nearby.

4. Restart Both Devices

Unplug the Echo Dot (5th Gen) for 10 seconds and restart your phone. Attempt pairing again after both have restarted.

5. Check for Existing Connection

The Echo Dot (5th Gen) can only maintain one Bluetooth connection at a time. Say “Alexa, disconnect Bluetooth” before pairing your device.
