Safe Checks You Can Try

1. Check Your Streaming Service Is Linked

In the Alexa app go to More → Music & Podcasts and confirm your streaming service (Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music etc.) is linked and showing as connected. If a service shows as disconnected, re-link it by logging in again.

2. Specify the Device When Requesting Music

Say “Alexa, play [artist] on Echo Studio” to ensure music plays on the correct device. If multiple Echo devices are in the same room or group, Alexa may route playback to a different device. Specifying the device name overrides this.

3. Check Your Internet Connection

Streaming music requires a stable internet connection. Ask Alexa “what’s the speed of my internet” or run a speed test on a device connected to the same network. If speeds are very low, streaming will fail or stutter.

4. Check the Default Music Service

In the Alexa app go to More → Music & Podcasts → Default Services and confirm the correct service is set as default. If no default is set, Alexa will choose — and may select a service you are not subscribed to.

5. Restart the Echo Studio

Unplug the Echo Studio from the wall, wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in. Allow one minute to restart and reconnect. Temporary streaming cache issues resolve with a restart.
