Echo Show Screen Not Responding

🔄 Try this first — Unplug the Echo Show from the wall, wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in.

Is the touchscreen on your Echo Show not responding to touch?

What This Problem Means

The touchscreen is not registering touch inputs or is responding incorrectly.

Common Symptoms

  • Tapping the screen produces no response
  • Screen responds to some taps but not others
  • Screen was working previously but has stopped

Safe Checks You Can Try

1. Restart the Device

Unplug the Echo Show from the wall, wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in. Allow two minutes to fully restart. Most temporary screen unresponsiveness resolves with a restart.

2. Clean the Screen

Use a dry lint-free cloth to clean the Echo Show screen. Moisture, grease or debris on the screen can affect touch sensitivity.

3. Check for a Protective Film

If the Echo Show is new, confirm any protective film has been fully removed from the screen.

4. Check Swipe vs Tap Actions

The Echo Show uses both swipe and tap gestures. Swipe from the top for quick settings, from the bottom for home. Confirm you are using the correct gesture for the action.

5. Factory Reset as a Last Resort

If the screen remains unresponsive after a restart, a factory reset may be required. In the Alexa app go to Devices → Echo Show → Factory Reset. Note this will remove all personal settings.
