Ring Doorbell Problems — all models

What This Problem Means

The device cannot connect to your WiFi network and is inaccessible via the app.

Common Symptoms

• Device shown as offline in app
• Motion alerts have stopped
• Live view fails to load
• Notifications not being received

Safe Checks You Can Try

Check WiFi signal strength
1. Open the Ring app and select your Ring Battery Doorbell Pro
2. Tap Device Settings then Device Health
3. Check the RSSI value — anything worse than -60 indicates weak signal
4. If signal is weak, move your router closer or add a WiFi extender

Verify 2.4GHz network is enabled
1. Log into your router admin panel (usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1)
2. Check that 2.4GHz WiFi is enabled — Ring devices cannot use 5GHz
3. If using band steering or smart connect, disable it
4. Give your 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks different names

Charge the battery
1. Remove the battery using the quick-release tab
2. Connect to the provided micro-USB cable and a 1 amp power adapter
3. Charge until the LED shows solid green — up to 10 hours
4. Reinsert the battery and allow 2 minutes to reconnect

Restart the device
1. Remove the battery for 10 seconds
2. Reinsert the battery
3. Wait 90 seconds for the device to reboot and reconnect

Restart your router
1. Unplug your router and modem from power
2. Wait 30 seconds
3. Plug modem back in first and wait for lights to stabilise
4. Plug router back in and wait for WiFi to fully restart
