Is your Echo Pop failing to connect to Wi-Fi?

What This Problem Means

The device cannot establish a Wi-Fi connection — most commonly caused by an incorrect password or the device being too far from the router.

Common Symptoms

  • Orange light ring indicating a Wi-Fi issue
  • Setup stalls at the Wi-Fi stage in the Alexa app
  • Echo Pop appears offline in the Alexa app

Safe Checks You Can Try

1. Check the Wi-Fi Password

In the Alexa app, go to Devices → Echo Pop → Change Wi-Fi and re-enter your password. An incorrect password is the most common cause of failure.

2. Move Closer During Setup

Place the Echo Pop within 3 metres of your router during initial setup. Move to its final position after connecting.

3. Restart Router and Device

Unplug your router for 30 seconds, plug back in. Once reconnected, restart the device and attempt setup again.

4. Check Router Band

The Echo Pop supports dual-band Wi-Fi. Confirm your router broadcasts correctly and try each band separately during setup if needed.

5. Deregister and Re-register the Device

If the Echo Pop shows offline after a router change, deregister it in the Alexa app and set it up again from scratch.
