The Echo Studio’s audio output is not meeting expectations. The 2025 model features Automatic Room Adaptation which analyses acoustics and adjusts playback — if this has not calibrated correctly, or if the device is in an acoustically problematic position, sound quality can suffer.

Safe Checks You Can Try
1. Allow Automatic Room Adaptation to Complete
The Echo Studio (2025) uses Automatic Room Adaptation — it analyses the acoustics of your room using its microphones and adjusts speaker output accordingly. This process runs in the background and can take several hours after initial setup to optimise. Ensure the device is in its intended position before assessment.
2. Check Placement
The Echo Studio performs best placed on a solid flat surface with at least 20cm of clear space around it. Avoid placing it in a cabinet, against a wall or on a surface that resonates. Isolation from surfaces can significantly reduce unwanted bass distortion.
3. Check the Audio Quality Setting
In the Alexa app go to Devices → Echo Studio → Audio Settings and check the audio quality setting. If it is set to a lower quality option to conserve bandwidth, switch it to the highest available setting.
4. Check Your Streaming Quality
The Dolby Atmos and spatial audio capabilities of the Echo Studio are most noticeable with high-quality audio sources. On Amazon Music, ensure HD or Ultra HD is selected in the app settings. On Spotify, set quality to Very High. Standard quality streaming will not showcase the Echo Studio’s full audio capability.
5. Restart the Echo Studio
Unplug the Echo Studio for 10 seconds, then plug it back in. Allow it to fully restart. The Automatic Room Adaptation recalibrates on startup and a restart often improves audio performance that has degraded over time.
