Nest Doorbell Wired Live View Not Working
Is the Live View on your Nest Doorbell Wired failing to connect?
What This Problem Means
The device is online but cannot stream live video — caused by insufficient bandwidth on the device’s network or your viewing device.
Common Symptoms
- Live View loading spinner never resolves
- “Can’t connect to camera” error
- Live View drops connection mid-stream
Safe Checks You Can Try
1. Force-Close and Reopen the Google Home App
Fully close the Google Home app and reopen it. A stale session frequently causes Live View to fail.
2. Check Bandwidth
Run a speed test on your home network. Streaming over 4G or LTE limits resolution to 720p on Nest cameras.
3. Test on Both Wi-Fi and Mobile Data
Switch your phone between Wi-Fi and mobile data and attempt Live View on each to identify the source of the problem.
4. Restart the Device
Switch off the power to the doorbell at the consumer unit for 10 seconds, then switch it back on. Allow two minutes before attempting Live View again.
5. Restart Your Router
Unplug your router for 30 seconds, plug back in and wait for it to fully reconnect.
