Nest Doorbell Wired Not Ringing

🔄 Try this first — Switch off the power to the doorbell at the consumer unit for 10 seconds, then switch it back on. Also restart your router by unplugging for 30 seconds.

Is your Nest Doorbell Wired not triggering your indoor chime when the button is pressed?

What This Problem Means

The doorbell button is working but the indoor chime is not sounding.

Common Symptoms

  • Pressing the button sends a notification but no indoor chime sounds
  • Chime rings intermittently
  • Chime stopped after doorbell installation

Safe Checks You Can Try

1. Check Chime Settings in the Google Home App

Open the Google Home app, go to your Nest Doorbell Wired settings and confirm the home chime settings are correctly configured for your chime type.

2. Check Home Chime Wiring

For wired doorbells, check the wiring connections at the indoor chime unit are secure. The Nest Doorbell Wired requires a compatible 16-24VAC transformer.

3. Link the Google Home App to the Chime

Ensure the Google Home app has the correct indoor chime device linked. Relinking the chime in the app can resolve pairing issues.

4. Check Notification Settings

Confirm doorbell notifications are enabled so you receive alerts when the button is pressed even if the chime has an issue.

5. Restart the Doorbell

Switch off the power to the doorbell at the consumer unit for 10 seconds, then switch it back on. Allow two minutes to fully restart.
