🔄 Try this first — Remove the Quick Release Battery Pack from the doorbell, wait 10 seconds, then reinsert it. Also restart your router by unplugging for 30 seconds.

Is your Ring Battery Doorbell Plus showing as offline in the Ring app? Here are the checks you can safely carry out before contacting support.

What This Problem Means

Your doorbell has lost its connection to the internet and can no longer stream Live View, send motion alerts or record events.

Common Symptoms

  • Ring app shows the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus as offline
  • No motion alerts or visitor notifications being received
  • Live View returns a connection error
  • Status light on the doorbell is off or flashing unexpectedly

Safe Checks You Can Try

1. Check Your Internet Connection

Test whether other devices on the same Wi-Fi network can access the internet. If no devices can connect, the issue is with your broadband or router rather than the doorbell. Contact your internet provider if needed.

2. Restart the Doorbell

Remove the Quick Release Battery Pack from the doorbell, wait 10 seconds, then reinsert it. Allow the doorbell two minutes to fully restart and reconnect before checking the Ring app.

3. Restart Your Router

Unplug your router from the mains for 30 seconds, then plug it back in. Wait for it to fully reconnect before checking the doorbell status in the Ring app.

4. Check Wi-Fi Signal Strength

Open Device Health in the Ring app and check the signal strength indicator for your Ring Battery Doorbell Plus. A green indicator is good, amber is acceptable, red indicates poor signal. If signal is poor, move your router closer to the front door or add a Ring Chime Pro as a Wi-Fi extender.

5. Check Power Supply

Confirm the doorbell has sufficient power. For battery models, check the battery level in Device Health. For hardwired models, check that the Power Health reading shows Good — a Poor reading indicates insufficient transformer voltage.
