🔄 Try this first — Unplug the camera from the wall, wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in. Also restart your router by unplugging for 30 seconds.

Is your Ring Indoor Cam repeatedly dropping offline throughout the day?

What This Problem Means

Repeated disconnections are almost always caused by a marginal Wi-Fi signal at the camera’s mounting location.

Common Symptoms

  • Repeated offline/reconnected notifications in the Ring app
  • Live View drops mid-stream
  • Gaps in recording when camera should have been online

Safe Checks You Can Try

1. Check Wi-Fi Signal

Open Device Health for your Ring Indoor Cam and check signal strength. Amber or red indicates a marginal connection. A Ring Chime Pro between the router and camera can stabilise the connection.

2. Check for Interference

Try manually setting the Wi-Fi channel in your router settings. Channels 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4GHz are best. Microwaves can cause temporary 2.4GHz interference.

3. Restart Your Router

Unplug your router for 30 seconds. A router reboot resolves most periodic disconnection patterns.

4. Check Power Supply

Low battery or an unstable power supply can cause the camera to disconnect. Check Device Health for power status.

5. Check for Network Congestion

If many devices are connected simultaneously, bandwidth congestion can cause the Ring Indoor Cam to drop. Temporarily disconnect unused devices to test.
