2. Check Bandwidth on Both Sides

Google Nest recommends sufficient bandwidth on both the camera’s network and your viewing device. Run a speed test on the same Wi-Fi network as the camera. Streaming over 4G or LTE limits resolution to 720p — for best quality, use Wi-Fi on your phone when viewing Live View.

3. Switch Between Wi-Fi and Mobile Data

On your phone, switch between your home Wi-Fi and mobile data and attempt Live View on each. If it works on one but not the other, the issue is with that specific network’s bandwidth rather than the camera.

4. Restart the Camera

Unplug the power adapter from the wall for 10 seconds, then plug it back in. Allow the camera two minutes to fully restart before attempting Live View again.

5. Check the Wi-Fi Signal at the Camera

Open the Google Home app, go to the camera’s settings and check for any connection warning. If the signal is poor at the camera’s location, move it closer to the router or use a Wi-Fi extender to improve the connection.
