Is your Ring Spotlight Cam battery not charging when connected?

What This Problem Means

The battery is not accepting charge — most commonly caused by a faulty cable or a fully discharged battery.

Common Symptoms

  • Battery level not increasing when connected to charger
  • Charging LED not illuminating
  • Battery charges then stops

Safe Checks You Can Try

1. Check the Charging Cable

Use the cable supplied with the camera. Inspect for damage and try a different USB port.

2. Try a Different Power Adapter

Use a 1A or higher USB power adapter. Low-power adapters charge very slowly or not at all.

3. Check the Charging Port

Inspect the charging port for debris and gently clear any obstruction with a dry non-metallic object.

4. Wait for a Deeply Discharged Battery

A fully discharged battery may take 15-20 minutes before showing any charging indicator.

5. Check Battery Temperature

Lithium batteries will not charge if too hot or too cold. Allow the battery to reach room temperature first.
