If your Tapo C675D is showing this problem, working through the checks below in order will resolve it in the large majority of cases.
What This Problem Means
Live View lets you see a real-time stream from your Tapo C675D. When it fails, it is almost always a Wi-Fi signal or internet speed issue.
Common Symptoms
- Live View shows a spinning wheel and times out
- Live View connects but immediately cuts out
- Black screen when opening Live View
- Error message in the app when trying to view
Safe Checks You Can Try
1. Check Wi-Fi signal strength
Live View is data-intensive. Check signal strength in the app and add a Wi-Fi extender if needed.
2. Check your internet upload speed
Test at fast.com. Below 2 Mbps and Live View will be unreliable.
3. Restart the camera and router
Press and hold the reset button on the camera for 5 seconds until the LED flashes, then release. Wait 60 seconds for the camera to restart. Also restart your router by unplugging it for 30 seconds. Temporary network congestion is a common cause.
4. Try switching to mobile data
Switch your phone to mobile data and try Live View. If it works on mobile but not home Wi-Fi, the issue is your home network.
5. Update the app
Ensure the app is up to date in the App Store or Google Play.
6. Check battery level
A low battery can prevent Live View. Check and charge if needed.
