🔄 Try this first — Switch off the circuit breaker supplying the camera for 10 seconds, then switch it back on. Wait 60 seconds for the camera to restart. Restart your router by unplugging it for 30 seconds too.

If your Ring Floodlight Cam is showing this problem, working through the checks below in order will resolve it in the large majority of cases. Each step is safe to carry out yourself and is verified against Ring’s official support guidance.

What This Problem Means

The device is repeatedly dropping its Wi-Fi connection and reconnecting. This is nearly always a signal strength or router configuration issue.

Common Symptoms

  • Device repeatedly shows as offline then comes back online
  • Frequent offline notifications from the Ring app
  • Live View fails to load or cuts out
  • Motion alerts arrive late or not at all
  • RSSI value fluctuating or shown in amber/red in Device Health

Safe Checks You Can Try

1. Check Wi-Fi signal strength (RSSI)

Open Device Health and check RSSI. Below −60 dBm will cause regular disconnections. Add a Ring Chime Pro or Wi-Fi extender.

2. Restart the device and router

Switch off the circuit breaker supplying the device for 10 seconds, then back on. Restart your router by unplugging it for 30 seconds.

3. Check for Wi-Fi interference

Try switching to a less congested Wi-Fi channel in your router settings. On 2.4GHz, channels 1, 6 and 11 overlap the least.

4. Separate the Wi-Fi bands

Ensure the device is connected specifically to 2.4GHz. Separate the bands in your router settings if they are merged.

5. Check power supply

Open Device Health and confirm Power Source shows as Good. Intermittent power loss can cause repeated disconnections.
