Is the Live View on your Ring Floodlight Cam failing to connect?
What This Problem Means
The camera is online but cannot stream live video — caused by insufficient bandwidth on the camera’s network or your viewing device.
Common Symptoms
- Live View loading spinner never resolves
- “Can’t connect” error message
- Live View drops mid-stream
Safe Checks You Can Try
1. Force-Close and Reopen the Ring App
Fully close the Ring app and reopen it. A stale session frequently causes Live View to fail.
2. Check Bandwidth
Ring recommends at least 2Mbps upload. Test Live View on both Wi-Fi and mobile data to identify which network is causing the issue.
3. Check Power Supply
Open Device Health and check Power Health. A camera with insufficient power may fail to maintain a Live View stream.
4. Restart the Camera
Switch off the power at the consumer unit or the floodlight cam power supply for 10 seconds, then switch it back on. Allow two minutes before testing Live View again.
5. Restart Your Router
Unplug your router for 30 seconds, plug back in and wait for it to fully reconnect.
