The lights are not activating on motion or on command — most commonly caused by a light sensitivity setting or a motion zone configuration.

Safe Checks You Can Try

1. Check Light Settings in the Ring App

Open the Ring app, go to your Ring Floodlight Cam settings and tap Light Settings. Confirm the motion-activated lights are enabled and the sensitivity threshold is not set too high.

2. Check Motion Zones

The lights on the Ring Floodlight Cam are triggered by motion events. Confirm your motion zones cover the area where you want lights to activate, and that motion sensitivity is not too low.

3. Check Ambient Light Sensitivity

The Ring Floodlight Cam uses a light sensor to prevent the lights activating in daylight. If the sensor detects sufficient ambient light, the lights will not activate even at dusk. Try adjusting the light sensitivity setting in the Ring app.

4. Restart the Camera

Switch off the power at the consumer unit or the floodlight cam power supply for 10 seconds, then switch it back on. Allow two minutes to fully restart before testing the lights again.

5. Check Power Supply

The lights on the Ring Floodlight Cam require a stable mains power supply. Check Device Health in the Ring app for any power warnings.
