Is your Ring Stick Up Cam producing blurry or pixelated footage?
What This Problem Means
Video quality issues are most commonly caused by insufficient Wi-Fi bandwidth at the camera’s location or a dirty lens.
Common Symptoms
- Footage appears grainy or pixelated
- Night footage is unusually dark
- Video has a pink or purple tint
Safe Checks You Can Try
1. Check Wi-Fi Signal Strength
Check Device Health in the Ring app for signal strength. A poor signal forces the Ring Stick Up Cam to reduce resolution automatically. Improve signal with a Ring Chime Pro.
2. Clean the Lens
Use a soft dry lint-free cloth to clean the lens. Outdoor cameras accumulate grime that reduces video quality.
3. Check Video Quality Setting
In Device Settings → Video Settings, confirm video quality is not set to a reduced tier.
4. Address a Pink or Purple Tint
A tint indicates a night vision switching issue. Check the night vision setting in the Ring app and restart the camera.
5. Restart the Camera
Remove the battery from the camera, wait 10 seconds, then reinsert it. Allow two minutes to restart.
