The doorbell cannot establish or maintain a stable Wi-Fi connection. The Wired Video Doorbell Pro (3rd Gen) supports both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz dual-band Wi-Fi, but if setup was attempted at distance from the router it may fail to connect reliably.

Safe Checks You Can Try
1. Check Wi-Fi Signal Strength
The Ring Wired Video Doorbell Pro (3rd Gen) recommends a minimum upload speed of 10Mbps for optimal performance. Open Device Health in the Ring app and check the signal strength indicator. Green is good, amber is acceptable, red indicates a problem. If signal is poor at the doorbell’s location, a Ring Chime Pro or Wi-Fi extender can help.
2. Confirm Your Router Broadcasts Both Bands
The doorbell supports 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz. If connection is unreliable on one band, try the other. Log into your router settings and confirm both bands are active. If your router uses a combined SSID, try connecting to each band separately during setup.
3. Check Your Wi-Fi Password
Re-enter your Wi-Fi password carefully during setup. An incorrect password is one of the most common causes of setup failure — pay close attention to upper and lower case characters and special characters.
4. Power Cycle the Doorbell
Switch the circuit breaker supplying the doorbell off for 10 seconds, then back on. Allow it to fully restart before attempting the Wi-Fi connection or setup process again.
5. Restart Your Router
Unplug your router for 30 seconds, plug it back in and wait for it to fully reconnect. Then attempt the Wi-Fi setup process again from the Ring app.
