Safe Checks You Can Try
1. Check Chime Settings in the Google Home App
Open the Google Home app, go to your Nest Doorbell Battery settings and confirm the home chime settings are correctly configured for your chime type.
2. Check Home Chime Wiring
For wired doorbells, check the wiring connections at the indoor chime unit are secure. The Nest Doorbell Battery requires a compatible 16-24VAC transformer.
3. Link the Google Home App to the Chime
Ensure the Google Home app has the correct indoor chime device linked. Relinking the chime in the app can resolve pairing issues.
4. Check Notification Settings
Confirm doorbell notifications are enabled so you receive alerts when the button is pressed even if the chime has an issue.
5. Restart the Doorbell
Remove the battery from the doorbell, wait 10 seconds, then reinsert it. Allow two minutes to fully restart.
