🔄 Try this first — Switch off the power to the camera at the fuse box for 10 seconds, then switch it back on. Also restart your router by unplugging for 30 seconds.

Is your Ring Floodlight Cam (2nd Gen) showing as offline in the Ring app? Here are the checks you can safely carry out before contacting support.

What This Problem Means

The hardwired camera has lost its connection to the internet and can no longer record, stream or send alerts — often caused by a power interruption or a Wi-Fi issue at the installation point.

Common Symptoms

  • Ring app shows the camera as offline or unreachable
  • No motion alerts are being received despite activity in the camera’s field of view
  • Live View returns a connection error
  • Status light on the camera is flashing or off

Safe Checks You Can Try

1. Check Power at the Fuse Box

The Floodlight Cam (2nd Gen) is hardwired and depends on a continuous mains supply. Check your fuse box to confirm the circuit supplying the camera has not tripped. Reset the breaker if necessary and allow the camera two minutes to reconnect.

2. Restart the Camera at the Fuse Box

Switch off the circuit breaker supplying the camera for 10 seconds, then switch it back on. This performs a full power cycle and is the first step for any offline issue with a hardwired Ring device.

3. Restart Your Router

Unplug your router from the mains for 30 seconds then plug it back in. Wait for it to fully reconnect. A router issue is a common cause of cameras going offline even when the camera itself has power.

4. Check Wi-Fi Signal at the Install Location

Open Device Health in the Ring app and review the signal strength at the camera’s mounting point. A weak Wi-Fi signal at the installation location will cause the camera to drop offline regularly. Consider a Wi-Fi extender if signal is poor.

5. Check for a Ring Service Outage

If multiple Ring devices are offline simultaneously, check ring.com/gb/en/support for any reported service issues. A platform-wide outage will affect all devices regardless of their local connection.
