🔄 Try this first — Switch off the power at the consumer unit or the floodlight cam power supply for 10 seconds, then switch it back on. Also restart your router by unplugging for 30 seconds.

Is your Ring Floodlight Cam failing to connect to Wi-Fi?

What This Problem Means

The camera cannot establish a stable Wi-Fi connection. The Ring Floodlight Cam supports both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz Wi-Fi.

Common Symptoms

  • Setup fails at the Wi-Fi stage in the Ring app
  • Device Health shows a weak or failed connection
  • Camera connects briefly then drops offline

Safe Checks You Can Try

1. Check Wi-Fi Password

Re-enter your Wi-Fi password carefully. An incorrect password is the most common cause of connection failure.

2. Move Closer to the Router During Setup

During setup, place the Ring Floodlight Cam within 3 metres of your router. Complete setup there, then move the camera to its final position.

3. Restart Router and Camera

Unplug your router for 30 seconds, plug it back in. Once fully reconnected, restart the camera and attempt setup again.

4. Check Router Band Settings

The Ring Floodlight Cam supports both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz Wi-Fi. Confirm your router is broadcasting the correct band and try connecting on each band separately if using a combined network.

5. Check for Interference

Thick walls and electronic devices between the router and camera can weaken signal. A Ring Chime Pro midway between the router and camera can improve connectivity.
